Paldor Peak (5903m.) climbing is a popular among all trekking peaks in Nepal, situated at the south-east end of Ganesh Himal marking the connection of the Tiru and Karpu Hill at the skull of the Mailung Khola, a branch of the Trisuli Gandaki River which is considered a trekking peak by the Nepal mountaineering association, this is a technical climb mountain. The quickest move toward Paldor and Ganesh Himal is from Sabru near Dunche in the Trisuli valley which can be arrived in a 8 hours drive from Kathmandu. From here the trail crosses the Langtang Khola to Sabrubesi. After crossing the Bhote Kosi River the route leads via Tamang villages of Tangjet and Gatlang, and then heads northwards along the ridge before plummeting into the forest above Mailung Khola to pick up the recently built road that leads to an Nepal Army post.
The first ascent of Paldor took place in 1949 by H. W. Bill Tilman, Peter Lloyd, Tenzing Sherpa and Da Namgyal over the northeast ridge. (as per Nepal government record same climbers ascent on January 05, 2022.). The moraine filled valley below Paldor is reached from here in another day walk. In addition, the trails are less crowded and the people are friendly. Until Somdang, we can do tea house trek. After Somdang, we have to do camping trek up to Paldor base camp and high camp. This climbing is the overview for anyone who is physically fit and has adventure spirit. After reaching, Paldor peak high camp, we will be using crampons, ice axe and rope. The summit is renowned for being an excellent view of Ganesh Himal, with the icy fangs of Pabil (7,101m.-23,300ft.), Lapsang Karpo (7,150m.-23,458ft.), Ganesh I (7,406m. - 24,298ft.) and Ganesh V (6,950m-22,802ft.) can be seen on clear day.
