After two days of insightful cultural explorations in Kathmandu, you will take an adventurous overland journey to the Tibetan highland. On the way, you drive past picturesque Tibetan settlements, nomadic herdsmen, ancient monasteries, high Mountain passes, wide arid plains and awe-inspiring mountain views. Before reaching Lhasa you will get an opportunity to glimpse the awesome striated rock summit of Mt. Everest from Everest Base Camp (5,200m). As you journey along the mighty peaks of Mt. Everest, Makalu, Changtse, Cho Oyu, Shishapangma and many other Tibetan peaks provide a scenic backdrop. You visit the three major cities in Tibet: Lhasa, Shigatse and Gyantse, visiting old palaces ,monastries and temples, as ancient as Tibet.
From Lhasa you embark on a memorable train journey to Beijing, with a stopover at the ancient city of Xian, a cultural centre of the old Silk Route. You enjoy two full days exploring the ancient treasures of Xian including the Terracotta Warriors. After exploring Xian, you continue your train journey to Beijing, the capital of China.

Day 04: Kyirong to Eeverest Base Camp (5,200m. - Tingri (4,350m. - 480km - 11 hrs) (B)
Today, we will first drive to pass through Peikutso lake and grassland. Then we continue to drive to Everest Base Camp and visit the world highest Monastery, the Rongbuk Monastery. On the way, you can view the splendid panoramic Himalaya Mountain Range at Gyawula Pass (5200m). After visiting Everest Base Camp, we will drive to Tingri. Stay overnight in Tingri Hotel.
Day 05: Tingri - Shigatse (3,900m.- 280km - 7 hrs) (B)
Today, we will drive from Tingri to Shigatse. On the way, you will visit the 5000m. G318 National Highway milestone in Lhatse. After your arrival in Shigatse in the early afternoon, you will visit the seat of Panchan Lama - Tashilunpo Monastery, one of the most important monasteries in Tibet. Stay overnight in Shigatse hotel
Day 06: Shigatse - Lhasa (3,650m.) via Gyantse (39,50m. - 375km) (B)
Today, we will drive to Lhasa via Gyantse. On the way you can see many Tibetan farmer villages. After arriving in Gyantse, you will visit Heritage town Gyantse old street and Perklor Monastery, Kumbum stupa. Then you will also visit Manak Dam Lake, Korola Glacier and Yamdrok Lake on the way to Lhasa. Stay overnight in Lhasa.
Day 07: Day sightseeing in Lhasa: Potala Palace,Jokhang Temple,Barkhor street.
In the morning, visit the famous Potala palace and explore the grandest of its myriad chapel, its audience halls, the jeweled and Golden burial chortens(stupa Tombs) of past Dalai Lamas, and tremendous number of Buddhist frescoes, thangkas, combinations of mandala, figures of the Buddha, made of precious metal.
In the afternoon, visit the holist temple in Tibet, the Johkang Temple, built during songtsen gonpo’s reign by princess wencheng of tang dynasty, 647 A.D. The inner circuit is also situated inside the temple and is lined with prayer-wheel and murals outlined in gold on red background, which depict the thousand buddhas, interspersed with stupas and relief-images. Johkang is circuit.
The circular pilgrim route around Jokhang temple is called Barkhor and later flourished, forming the embryo of the city. The barkhor market itself is the most active in all Tibet, and it is possible to purchase traditional Tibetan artifacts, religious implements, antiques, books, Tibetan music instrument, Thangkas, and tradition Tibetan clothes etc. Stay overnight in Lhasa.
Day 08: Lhasa Sightseeing: Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery.
Drepung monastery is situated at the foothill of a mountain and was founded by Jamyang Choeje in 1416. It was once the home to 10000 monks and Ganden podrang in Drepung is famous as it was the government centre and later moved to the famous Potala palace during fifth dalai lama. By the time you can also visit the Nechung monastery located 1km southeast of Drepung and is the abode of the protector deity pehar and the seat of the state Oracle of Tibet.
In the afternoon, explore the Sera monastery which was founded in 1419 by Tsongkapa’s disciple Jamchen Choeje. The most attractive is Monks debating held in the courtyard at around 6-7:30 in the afternoon. This Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum is about 35 km from Xian. After lunch, visit ancient city walls, which stretches round the old city. The City Wall of Xi'an was established in the 3rd year of Hongwu Period of the Ming Dynasty (1370 A.D.) in a rectangular form with a perimeter of 13.79 km and an area of 11.47 km2.
